Love is in the Air

Last night, my best friend and I were texting each other. She asked how I was, and we had a fun discussion of what we were doing. I told her that it was kinda boring doing nothing but scanning the television for interesting shows (They were all staying in Taguig for the night). I watched Mano Po 3, Super Noypi (kudos to Quark Henares), Mythbusters and Iron Chef America. I also watch some shows in Life Style Network such as How Do I Look? and Janet Dickenson Modeling Agency (and I found myself open-mouthed for a minute. Good thing I was alone). Going back, my best friend asked me to have dinner some time so when Loulou canceled our plans the next day, I asked my best friend to have dinner at 6pm.

I was in hurry to go to Katipunan as I was writing in the Late Permit logbook when my good friend (tonight I'll refer to them in these names) told me some fantastic news.

'Kami na ni ________.'

I was speechless though not entirely surprised (finally, hahaha...) . Another friend of mine and I were just talking about 'them' the other time (please don't ask me to elaborate). Moving on, I arrived at my best friend's boarding house. Together with my other close friend, we had dinner in Wok This Way. We discussed some things that happened last Christmas break and I learned that my High School friends had a reunion and just realized how much I missed (curse FEASIB!!).

We talked about personal stuff (a LOT has change). We had a heart to heart talk about facing her fears, clearing her thoughts and stuff like 'don't hold back', 'it does not always come everyday', 'there are more important things in life than career' (I frequently do this when I visit her however this is not a topic we ever talked about before). I said things I never thought I would ever advise someone (I might also need it myself. hehehe...). Bottom line is I hope she will give him a chance and be happy herself. I'm glad to know that there is a lot of love in this world (or at least in mine).

Oke memories

One afternoon after my exam, I asked my roommate to suggest something to do. She asked me to try reading the manga she was collecting so I started reading volume 1 and got so hooked with it that I finished it in an hour. I never knew that it would very addicting (even her sensei is collecting it).

5f347e5f2b801d26c575b07406c97aa9.jpgEvery month, we would anticipate the release of Nodame Cantabille and I would borrow it from my roommate. She was willing to spend 500 Php each month just to get hold of the latest volume (but later realized that it was very expensive). As long as my roommate gets a copy, I get to read it too but when she decided to stop that was the end of it for me (I got stuck with volume 8). But my friend gave me a copy of the rest of the volumes (till 18 so just count off how long) and I stayed up till wee hours of the morning to read them (otaku-mode). Now I'm enjoying the live-action. :)

00b658c45c589f984bab88bbd330e285.jpgI promised my roommate to attend one of her orchestra practices so one weekend I accompanied her (65% of the reason). We first went to EDSA Shang (where her family were staying then) because (if remember correctly) her uncle passed the board (or was it bar?) exam and was going to have his oath taking. The both of us went to have lunch at Pizza Hut (15% of the reason why I came) after that (that was one of the best meals I've ever had) where we ordered a huge sausage stuffed pizza, pasta and I had a Caribbean Smoothie (the best drink I ever tasted). Since then, I long for that drink even if we were nearly frozen to death.

After our feast, we went to Sucat for her orchestra practice. It was an international school (though students were younger) so it was not usual for me even if I came from different types of schools (trust UP facilities). I was amazed how specialized there facilities were (there was a ballet rehearsal room) and how these facilities are well used (not for the eyes only) and maintained. Moving on, it was my first time to hear (or the first thing I remembered) a live orchestra. There concert master was a cute girl (I think her nick name sounds like mine) and I got to meet their sensei. After their rehearsal, we went to her sensei's apartment to borrow Nodame vol 8 (20% of the reason why I came). That was the last volume I read since yesterday (which means it was almost a year ago).

I got this post (with permission) from my roommate's archives (I omitted the date). We were just discussing how it was then we were the newbies and not the ates (it's not that long ago). I remember how it was to prepare our presentation. We were 15 then for east wing one (reubs, yan, martin, neil, angelo, tep, ray, jason, yes, angelica, theresa, alena, joyce, razel and me and ate alpha).

Now a few of us left are(joyce, raz, me, tep, ray and jason). Some graduated (ate alpha, yes, alena) some were not renewed (the rest). I've been changing photos in front of my desk every month since I stayed in Yakal. But there is one photo I never replaced- our group pic during Kalai Formal Dinner (Erik, Reubs, Yan, Martin, Jinky, Lou and Me). I missed those days (just read Bob's message 'Miss you na' and it still gives me the kilig factor). I guess I'm not over it. :P

The Repressed Perversion of Barney

FYI: my roomie decided the title of this post. hehehe...

Tonight, my roomie and I decided to do our Thesis and Feasibility Studies. We posted three coupon bonds of signs outside the door that anyone reading would not dare disturb us in our tasks (Please Observe Silence. Feasib and Thesis Mode. Please do not disturb.) But anyone passing by our door would doubt that we are doing such since even mice that may be passing by would be surprise by the occasional laughter.

2630958dd08c8dc209f69e009ac93f41.jpgFor an hour, we were diligently working silently by ourselves (well maybe my roommate since I have this occasional visit at friendster). This (what seemed to be) smooth sailing silence was broken by a scandalous... (I shall not continue. Hahaha... she was at the exciting part of the book she is reading) . Anyway, after roars of laughter (and sprays) she asked me to listen to a singing Barney plush that Mara (one of my closest friends, the girl who lives next door) gave her for Christmas. It was the usual "I love you. You love me" song that all kids know; however, the love sounds like rub. So when she asked me how was it, I found myself singing it with a different set of lyrics and we burst into laughter again when my roommate commented that 'wahhh... si Barney may mahalay na side'. She wants to call her plush Barnett (I didn't have any connection with that decision) so I hope my friend Barney won't be able to read this entry (hahaha... )

Barney Song (Charie & Razel's version)

I rub you.
You rub me.
Let's all rub the family.

With a great, big sponge
Lying in front of you
Won't you say
You'll rub me too.

Which Card are You?

You are The Empress

Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.

The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents,
beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home
decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.

The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

100 years

Early yesterday, I was happy to hear that classes were suspended 1pm onwards. I planned to use my free day studying for my 152 exam (who cares about College Graduation. Hehehe…). But then, Nice invited me (to my pleasure) to watch the kick-off. At 3pm still engrossed with my project with Maam Dayao, she pulled me out of the room with one glare and just a few words (she always gets away with it).

45110b862332092f36f29ed5f4ee7fb3.jpgWe settled ourselves at the UP Golf Course, near the technical’s booth beside UP Rifle Team. We watched the parade and took pictures with the sky divers. Basically we enjoyed ourselves with the amusing performances during the parade and were only occasionally disturbed by the sound of the canon (literally jumping in surprise).

89ab30711ab06ee3ab8e255b0ec3fcff.jpgAt around 8:30 we went back to watch the concert. Nothing was as heartwarming as the numbers by the Concert Chorus and the Fantasia-like sounds of the Orchestra. Mr. Ryan Cayabyab sang a song they composed back when he was still studying in UP. Right after was the most touching UP Naming Mahal I sang for the past 3 years (still nothing beats High School Graduation).

85c610e6f24e40041f2a7bb79bf6b9b9.jpgAfter that, my most awaited. A breathtaking fireworks display. The best I've ever watched. Everyone was awed and amazed (whoas, oohs and aahs were even louder than the sound of fireworks). It feels nice to be part of history. It’s one of the best nights in my life (though I can do away with the smoke-choking incident after the fireworks).
