A Collector's Snag
It’s been a while since I’ve posted in this blog. I have more or less a week till I officially leave this small space inside these grey walls. Several things have kept me busy these past few days. My job as Student Assistant almost always takes out most of time. One note worthy thing that happened to me recently is that I discovered that I’ve accidentally deleted my thesis file (I almost cried) together with some unimportant files in my desktop (I should make a new folder and name it IMPORTANT FILES). I recently had a downloading rush for music files to maximize Dilnet’s (our school network) bandwidth capabilities (well I’m leaving for good might as well take advantage). I usually download them to my desktop to easily see them. Mara (my room neighbor) and I also visited our sensei Berserk to copy some anime series for my anime collection (it’s almost 250gb) that I’ve deleted after transferring them to DVDs. Recovering my files (deleted from the recycle bin) proved to be a difficult task due to the large number of newly erased files so after 30 minutes, I dropped the search and decided to start my thesis from the top (well at least it came out good since I was able to double the number of pages after 20 minutes).

Farewell
One hot morning of June, I’ve just finished hauling my bags inside room 109. Earlier I was ecstatic to know that I will have a new dormitory to stay. As I signed beside my name and new room number, I skimmed previous pages of the checklist hoping to find the same number before the guard puts it away but to no good. I was quite happy though thinking that it would be one of God’s surprises for me. As I finished dressing my bed, still tired and exhausted with the unbearable heat, I lay on it still pondering who my new roommate will be not knowing a few minutes later she will arrive. As the door opened I held my breath to see who the mystery person was. I was surprised to see it was Razel.
I knew her back in Kalayaan as she was the corridor representative of the Naughty-Ka, our partner corridor. I never thought we would get along well because I remember when I first walked inside their room to meet her back in freshman year; I had the impression of her being aloof, studious and loner very contrary to my cheerful and optimistic personality. But the long days of being together has made us love same things evidenced by our matching slippers, and table and shelf motifs.
I will never forget the times we had. Who could forget the lengthy conversations when we would just stay-up till wee hours of the morning talking about Bob or Carrot or any topic we would come across with. Our occasional nightly trips to the infirmary with so many bloopers will always make me smile (*wink). I’ll miss the mushroom soup and cakes we had in Oz with Suzaku and Butterscotch while I play **** and you finish your paper. Our shopping sprees in SM North where I introduced you to my gyudon addiction will always be reminisced every time I’ll eat Japanese food. I will also miss our anime marathons, our Christmas carols even in the middle of February, and our schedules on post-it’s which we usually don’t follow.
I would like to thank you for several things. I remember you helped me finished my token for my master which was a cross stitch of a pig. You also introduced me to Nodame, which sparked my interest in Manga. Thank you for all the food treats; the best part was when we ate at Pizza Hut after your Uncle’s Oath taking. That time I discovered the best drink which is the Caribbean Smoothie. Thank you for all the Accounting assignments you helped me rewrite when I accidentally took them home before the end of the semester.
For all the sign-outs you’ve signed me in, for every fruit cocktail and cereal I ate, for every staple I asked from you thank you so much for providing them. Thank you also for making my birthdays special, for always being there when I need someone to talk to, for giving me advice when I asked them, for taking care of me when I’m ill, and for always praying for me.
It’s 1:30 pm now, I have to go. We parted with a hug just like we first met. We may never share these moments again but I’m glad we did. Sayonara Chibi-san. Ganbatte kudasai! *tears

Love is in the Air
Last night, my best friend and I were texting each other. She asked how I was, and we had a fun discussion of what we were doing. I told her that it was kinda boring doing nothing but scanning the television for interesting shows (They were all staying in Taguig for the night). I watched Mano Po 3, Super Noypi (kudos to Quark Henares), Mythbusters and Iron Chef America. I also watch some shows in Life Style Network such as How Do I Look? and Janet Dickenson Modeling Agency (and I found myself open-mouthed for a minute. Good thing I was alone). Going back, my best friend asked me to have dinner some time so when Loulou canceled our plans the next day, I asked my best friend to have dinner at 6pm.
I was in hurry to go to Katipunan as I was writing in the Late Permit logbook when my good friend (tonight I'll refer to them in these names) told me some fantastic news.
'Kami na ni ________.'
I was speechless though not entirely surprised (finally, hahaha...) . Another friend of mine and I were just talking about 'them' the other time (please don't ask me to elaborate). Moving on, I arrived at my best friend's boarding house. Together with my other close friend, we had dinner in Wok This Way. We discussed some things that happened last Christmas break and I learned that my High School friends had a reunion and just realized how much I missed (curse FEASIB!!).
We talked about personal stuff (a LOT has change). We had a heart to heart talk about facing her fears, clearing her thoughts and stuff like 'don't hold back', 'it does not always come everyday', 'there are more important things in life than career' (I frequently do this when I visit her however this is not a topic we ever talked about before). I said things I never thought I would ever advise someone (I might also need it myself. hehehe...). Bottom line is I hope she will give him a chance and be happy herself. I'm glad to know that there is a lot of love in this world (or at least in mine).

Oke memories
One afternoon after my exam, I asked my roommate to suggest something to do. She asked me to try reading the manga she was collecting so I started reading volume 1 and got so hooked with it that I finished it in an hour. I never knew that it would very addicting (even her sensei is collecting it).
Every month, we would anticipate the release of Nodame Cantabille and I would borrow it from my roommate. She was willing to spend 500 Php each month just to get hold of the latest volume (but later realized that it was very expensive). As long as my roommate gets a copy, I get to read it too but when she decided to stop that was the end of it for me (I got stuck with volume 8). But my friend gave me a copy of the rest of the volumes (till 18 so just count off how long) and I stayed up till wee hours of the morning to read them (otaku-mode). Now I'm enjoying the live-action. :)
I promised my roommate to attend one of her orchestra practices so one weekend I accompanied her (65% of the reason). We first went to EDSA Shang (where her family were staying then) because (if remember correctly) her uncle passed the board (or was it bar?) exam and was going to have his oath taking. The both of us went to have lunch at Pizza Hut (15% of the reason why I came) after that (that was one of the best meals I've ever had) where we ordered a huge sausage stuffed pizza, pasta and I had a Caribbean Smoothie (the best drink I ever tasted). Since then, I long for that drink even if we were nearly frozen to death.
After our feast, we went to Sucat for her orchestra practice. It was an international school (though students were younger) so it was not usual for me even if I came from different types of schools (trust UP facilities). I was amazed how specialized there facilities were (there was a ballet rehearsal room) and how these facilities are well used (not for the eyes only) and maintained. Moving on, it was my first time to hear (or the first thing I remembered) a live orchestra. There concert master was a cute girl (I think her nick name sounds like mine) and I got to meet their sensei. After their rehearsal, we went to her sensei's apartment to borrow Nodame vol 8 (20% of the reason why I came). That was the last volume I read since yesterday (which means it was almost a year ago).

Senti Moments
I got this post (with permission) from my roommate's archives (I omitted the date). We were just discussing how it was then we were the newbies and not the ates (it's not that long ago). I remember how it was to prepare our presentation. We were 15 then for east wing one (reubs, yan, martin, neil, angelo, tep, ray, jason, yes, angelica, theresa, alena, joyce, razel and me and ate alpha).
Now a few of us left are(joyce, raz, me, tep, ray and jason). Some graduated (ate alpha, yes, alena) some were not renewed (the rest). I've been changing photos in front of my desk every month since I stayed in Yakal. But there is one photo I never replaced- our group pic during Kalai Formal Dinner (Erik, Reubs, Yan, Martin, Jinky, Lou and Me). I missed those days (just read Bob's message 'Miss you na' and it still gives me the kilig factor). I guess I'm not over it. :P

The Repressed Perversion of Barney
FYI: my roomie decided the title of this post. hehehe...
Tonight, my roomie and I decided to do our Thesis and Feasibility Studies. We posted three coupon bonds of signs outside the door that anyone reading would not dare disturb us in our tasks (Please Observe Silence. Feasib and Thesis Mode. Please do not disturb.) But anyone passing by our door would doubt that we are doing such since even mice that may be passing by would be surprise by the occasional laughter.
For an hour, we were diligently working silently by ourselves (well maybe my roommate since I have this occasional visit at friendster). This (what seemed to be) smooth sailing silence was broken by a scandalous... (I shall not continue. Hahaha... she was at the exciting part of the book she is reading) . Anyway, after roars of laughter (and sprays) she asked me to listen to a singing Barney plush that Mara (one of my closest friends, the girl who lives next door) gave her for Christmas. It was the usual "I love you. You love me" song that all kids know; however, the love sounds like rub. So when she asked me how was it, I found myself singing it with a different set of lyrics and we burst into laughter again when my roommate commented that 'wahhh... si Barney may mahalay na side'. She wants to call her plush Barnett (I didn't have any connection with that decision) so I hope my friend Barney won't be able to read this entry (hahaha... )
I rub you.
You rub me.
Let's all rub the family.
With a great, big sponge
Lying in front of you
Won't you say
You'll rub me too.
here are also some pictures I grabbed from Nice's friendster account (click for larger view):
